World Mosquito Day is observed yearly on August 20 to mark Sir Ronald Ross’s discovery in 1897 that the female anopheles mosquitoes transmit malaria from person to person. Mosquitos kill more people globally than any other animal. The theme of the World Mosquito Day 2024 is “Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable world.”

BIRD WATCHING EVENT IN COLLABORATION WITH WWF,INDIA-
7 TH JAN,2024 at Meghadrigedda Reservoir, Visakhapatnam.
Bird watching event was organized by WWF ,India, on 7th January from 5:30 am to 8am. Students of II & III CBZ participated along with faculty members and volunteers of WWF who helped the students to watch the migratory birds visit Meghadrigedda reservoir, down stream using Binoculars, camera etc. It was a ver enriching experience.

Students of II CBZ, visited Central Institute of Fisheries
Technology, Visakhapatnam on 28/4/2023. Students had an opportunity to understand
fish processing technology. They visited the labs, interacted with the
scientists and gained knowledge on fish processing related to improved
methods of handling, preservation of sea fish and shell fish. The technology of
preparation of value-added products had kindled a lot of interest in fish
processing technology. Interaction with the scientists inspired them towards
fishery science.

EXTENSION ACTIVITY AT INDIRA GANDHI ZOOLOGICAL PARK ON 12TH AUGUST, ON WORLD ELEPHANT DAY.
TO CREATE AWARENESS ON CONSERVATION OF ELEPHANTS AND ITS HABITAT.
Students spoke about the importance of conservation of elephants and to protect their habitat to the school children who attended this programme. Quiz was also conducted for the school children.
